Memphis City Council urges wellbeing section to challenge mask mandate

The Memphis Metropolis Council and lots of in Memphis would like a new mask mandate amid a 3rd COVID-19 surge but the city’s lawyers told the council they do not have the authority. 

The discussion of yet another mask mandate has simmered for weeks as the delta variant has sent conditions skyward, returning hospitalizations to concentrations not noticed considering the fact that January.

Councilman Jeff Warren, the only medical professional on the council, introduced a resolution Tuesday inquiring Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland to reimpose the city’s mask mandate.

Spokane City Council President announces cancer analysis, go away to complete remedy

SPOKANE, Wash. — Spokane Town Council President, Breean Beggs, announced his most cancers analysis at Monday’s meeting.

Beggs explained he will be taking a leave of absence to finish chemotherapy and radiation therapy.

He was diagnosed with cancer in June and soon just after experienced a tumor taken out from his tonsil.

“This treatment is fatiguing, but it will be value it to get back again to my life and the individuals I appreciate,” Beggs reported in a assertion on Facebook.

Jackie Lawrence, director of health equity for the combined health district of Richmond and Henrico County, described some of the disparities in health outcomes for Black families in the area as “staggering.”

In Richmond, she said, the infant mortality rate for Black families over the past 15 years has been 12 in every 1,000 cases, more than double the rate for white families.
